  1. I did a favor for this french girl I worked with on a cruise ship. She was an ice skater in one of the shows on the ship, and I was a sound technician from Canada. I fixed her macbook and gave her access to the movie collection I had on my computer. I called her Frenchy, she called me mon loup. While fixing her macbook and discussing things we missed from home, I mentioned how much I love Eggnog during the holidays, and she mentioned her ex-boyfriend used to sing her christmas songs in english while she was learning the language.

  3. On Christmas eve after the evenings shows, we were celebrating the holiday in the S.O.B. (staff and officers bar) sharing a cigarette, and she handed me this strangely wrapped gift. I opened it to find a bottle of eggnog mixed with rum she purchased from a liquor store while we were in Miami. It impressed me so much she remembered that I liked eggnog, that grabbed her and the other girls from the ice cast, and set them down in the corner of the bar and told them to wait.

  5. I quickly ran to the crew bar 2 decks below where there was a philipino party in rapid pace and grabbed a few of the maintenance guys who were playing guitars, and brought them up to the SOB. I setup a small performance area, turned on the PA we use for Karaoke, and called the attention of everyone in the bar, officers, managers, and even the Captain and his Staff Captain.

  7. The philipinos started a beautiful medley and I proudly I began to sing Winter Wonderland to Frenchy, my beautiful Figure Skating Princess. The next song was directly to her, remembering what french I learned in school, I sang from a book she had, this song. As I sang this song, she got up and we danced, and it was if noone else was in the room. We drank that eggnog that night, and sang every christmas song we knew. Everyone got into the christmas spirit, and the Captain thanked me afterwards for bringing Christmas cheer to everyone in the room that night. (Christmas is a hard time to be working on a cruise ship, everyone is missing their family back home).
