1509535 - Mine: dailymail anti-porn
  1. While we're on the topic of cocaine, I think you'd better put down the crack pipe.  That phallic, controlling, patriarchal crack pipe.
  2.
  3. Nobody ever died from a porn OD, which prima facie makes it less damaging than cocaine.  Nobody ever assassinated a president or prime minister to maintain a porn empire (Escobar).  Your hyperbolic headline is insulting to my intelligence and is a flat-out lie.

  5. Of course your marriage can suffer if you or your spouse spends too much time watching porn.  The same applies for watching sport, going down the pub, going to the gym, watching TV, playing computer games, shopping, reading or any of the myriad activities to which a person may be addicted.  Your rhetoric about porn 'debasing' women (more on that in a minute) unfortunately is a common one, which likely contributes to the quoted 40% figure relating to couples seeking counseling - porn is more likely to be seen as a problem than other addictive, time-consuming solitary activities.
  6.
  7. Porn only 'debases' women if you believe the activities involved are 'dirty' and only reinforces what you believe to be male dominance if that's the kind of porn you're watching.  Much of it actually involves feminine power, where the woman demands to be satisfied and controls the action.  This viewpoint of yours and the "widows" you quote - and the self-loathing man, for that matter - come from society's inability to deal with sex and associated guilt that has been passed down from generation to generation.  If I was the sort of easily-led weak-willed twit that this man appears to be, I'd probably have listened to feminist anti-porn rhetoric with the same sort of uncritical ear as him and feel guilty as well.
